sydney accomodation, weekend news, keyue's stag night

currently listening to: cafe del mar vol 7

it's sunday night, the most dreaded night of all nights because work for the week starts again tomorrow morning. anyway, feeling extremely not productive and lazy - think that it comes from not liking the work that i'm doing. just thought that i'd procrastinate and not do any work tonight, which is bad, considering that i'm going to die again tomorrow and the rest of the week with bloody big projects running.

anyways, cafe del mar is calming me down a little. chill out music tends to do that but i find that bad/not that great chillout music just gets annoying after a while. cafe del mar is ok music that doesn't get too repetitive. i think thievery corporation has a great album too, which i bought for jean for her birthday in the last year of uni in sydney. jean was my housemate for my final year of uni.

the chronology of kelvin's living arrangements in sydney:

- Feb 2000 to early 2001: anzac parade with say beng and another guy - can't remember the name!!
- early 2001 to early 2002: todman avenue with claire, kenneth and estee - the place which was broken into and i got a fractured orbital floor (eye) when fighting with the intruder
- 2002: botany street with claire and sarah
- 2003: silver street with claire then jean

nicest place was todman avenue with its huge balcony but we really didn't feel safe there after the break-in.
most horrible place was botany street but it was like 2 mins walk from uni.
furthest place was anzac parade

just wrote that for remembrance sake. so that i don't forget, just like i've forgotten alot of my primary school experiences. ok.

what i wanted to blog about tonight was what happened over the weekend.

Friday night went to Pop Puri Singapura which is a visual arts exhibition which my company helped out with designing the user interfaces for one of the art pieces. following which, went to the makansutra outdoor hawker centre near dxo/al dente to eat char kuay teow. Gail came down and informed me that ling and her were going to zouk so asked me to tag along. went back to office, dropped stuff and packed bags and left for zouk. it was the first time i've been back to zouk since they renovated and i can hardly tell what's changed really. but it was crowded. bought some drinks at winebar and started tanking up. after which headed into phuture and danced a bit, apple shooters all around but r & b. moved down to zouk which was playing pretty good music... was tired then went back to office where my boss was still around - so played foosball for a while then i fell asleep in my chair. ling and gail tried to go two vs. one against my boss but they kept losing. maybe it's the fact that they were quite wasted with alcohol. i was just plain tired. Got home around 4-5am.

Saturday woke up at around 12 noon, had lunch then went back to sleep. woke up in between to arrange for keyue's stag night. went down to bishan to cut hair and meet junjie and vance for dinner. we finished and went over to mark's house (keyue's childhood friend) for the wedding meeting. which ended at 10pm!

ok met up with the guys for keyue's stag night - it was pretty tame, just ice-cold beer for drinks. mainly, we all joked about taking keyue to a KTV like KBK or XTD where the main purpose is not to sing. it was an unspoken thing but i think that we didn't feel inclined to because

1. it's not the kind of fun we're looking for
2. i don't think that keyue is looking for that kind of fun either.

for me, i really feel happy that two of my friends are getting together and i wouldn't want the possibility of keyue hurting shirley because of what us guys made him do.

So we pretty much settled on staying at ice-cold beer for a while but keyue would have to perform a few tasks that night. haha

Task 1: Get the phone number of a female stranger.
which he pulled off - thanks to a kind stranger named winnie.

moved over to rouge down the road where junjie knew the manager of alley bar or something. where we proceeded to open a bottle of belvedere vodka and get keyue to do Task No. 2: take a photo with a female stranger kissing him. which he pulled off quite well.

anyway, by now, you guys must be damn bored of reading cos i'm a damn boring writer. too bad. my brain's not working tonight.

we were pretty sad, a bunch of guys dancing to r&B at rouge. so thankfully, elaine and shirley came down to add the feminine element to the mix.

ok to summarise the rest cos i'm boring myself.

- kruger and john molina dedicated "100 years" to keyue and shirley, the whole club congratulated them
- met jesse and he bought me whiskey which tasted horrible. elaine thankfully helped to finish it for me.
- danced a bit more, went to thomson for crispy prata. then home at around 5am.

woke up at 6.30am for sunday mass, came home slept, ippt remedial training at 4pm and then dinner, home, bumming, did some work. blog.

sorry for boring you guys. here's the photos anyway.

The happy couple. Keyue is quite drunk. I think he burned his lips too on the flaming lamborgini.
